Soulganic: Congrats to you all! You did your thing on the sophmore effort-From the Storm to the Sun. Let me first say that the design of the CD alone had me intrigued and ready to dive into what was in store and the depths of music and talent did not disappoint on this one!

You can really tell that the group has graduated higher in sound. Anthony’s (front man) vocals have matured even more and the sound of the group is truly unique as each member lends their expertise in instrumentation.

The transitions in music are at such an ease and one can truly see there is a spot in the music world for this FUNKTASTIC sound. “Make You Beautiful” rivals Maxwell’s R&B feel to songs such as “Pretty Wings” from Blacksummers’ Night and “Reunion” from the Urban Hang Suite and is sure to be a fan favorite (definitely mine). “Flower Child” reminds me of songs from Soulganic’s breakthrough CD and this is why I like it. Soulganic did not lose their sound in trying to do something different or innovative. I could cover each track in detail but that would not be fair artistically.

One of my associates heard in and thought it was one to definitely add to their collection. I am definitely grabbing this one as it will be in heavy rotation.

All in all, From the Storm to the Sun is truly genius in the making.

From Charlotte Magazine’s March 2010 Issue:

“On its sophomore album the soul funk outfit tackles heavy lyrical topics while adhering to the qualities that made it a local favorite—fluid playing; classic Latin, rock, and R&B influences (Buddy Miles, Santana); and Anthony Rodriguez’s searing falsetto.”

This is one of the best albums of the year! Usually, the second album is lackluster. But, you guys have taken it to a whole other level! You kept some familiar elements to act as a bridge to this new world you have created through your music. This album is engaging throughout & stands as a testament to the power & relevance of real music in this digital world. Soulganic truly IS organic soul!
